So it seems that earlier rumors suggesting an iPod nano refresh were pretty accurate as Apple has taken the wraps off their new iPod nano. If anything we can’t help but feel that it looks like a mini iPhone, and that’s a good thing given the iPhone’s rather iconic design. It also measures 5.4mm thin, making this the thinnest iPod nano Apple has ever created. It sports a 2.5″ multitouch display on the front and will have physical controls on its side for Play, Pause, Forward and/or Back. It will also feature video playback capabilities, but given the 2.5″ display, we’re not sure if you will enjoy watching full length movies on it. However given that Apple has also revealed that the iPod nano will come with fitness apps and a pedometer built-in, perhaps video playback capabilities can be used for playing back some workout ideas at the gym, but really, it’s left to your discretion.
The new iPod nano will also come with Bluetooth connectivity, a much asked-for feature which will now allow it to pair with Bluetooth speakers and Bluetooth headsets. Available in seven different colors, Apple is also boasting that the latest iPod nano will sport the longest battery life compared to its siblings.

LG, Qualcomm announce September 19th event for a new smartphone

Rumors have been doing their rounds on the web that LG is expected to go forth with the launch of a smartphone of its own some time next week. And now, LG has confirmed the date and the event by rolling out official invites.
We have already seen a whole plethora of smartphone launches this month. Nokia came up with the Lumia delights, Motorola had RAZR smartphones up its sleeve, HTC also pooled in with its share whereas Apple unveiled the much-anticipated iPhone 5. But the month’s launches seem far from over.
While LG hasn’t divulged a lot many details about the event, it does tell us that it is going to launch a smartphone. We are quite optimistic that Optimus G is indeed going to be the highlight of this event. The smartphone packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 chip together with a 13-megapixel camera and LTE connectivity.
The event is titled ‘Live without boundaries’ and the official invite states, “LG and Qualcomm cordially invite you Live Without Boundaries. This exclusive event takes place on September 19 at [Redacted], where you will receive a first-hand look at an upcoming LG smartphone. LG and Qualcomm executives will be on hand to show off the device and discuss how this partnership is taking both companies to new heights.”

What's rectangular, coated in a royal bronze finish, opens like a clam and lasts for up to seven and a half hours? If you answered MSI's new CR41 notebook, you'd be right (though we would've accepted self-destructing jewelry boxes as an answer). The 14-inch multimedia "mobile companion," announced just today, packs a 1,366 x 768 HD display, dedicated HM76 graphics chipset, choice of Intel's third-generation Core i processors and comes in a variety of storage configurations: 500 GB, 640GB or 720GB.
Weighing in at 5.3 pounds (2.4kg) and measuring 13.8 x 9.2 x 1.3 inches (349.7 x 234.8 x 32mm), the laptop also features a six-cell 4,400mAh battery, support for Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi b/g/n, an optical drive, ports for HDMI, USB 3.0 (x2), USB 2.0 (x2), an SD slot and the requisite headphone jack. So far no official pricing or release dates have been made public for the Windows 7 rig, but when it does hit retailers' shelves, rest assured it'll be upgrade-ready for Redmond's next great OS. Lenovo teases IdeaTab A2107 and A2109

Lenovo's been racking up its IdeaTab portfolio with slates like the S2109 and S2110, but apparently there's a lot more where that came from. The Chinese company's currently showcasing two new US-bound, ICS-based IdeaTabs on its website, starting with the 7-inch A2107 which had previously made the rounds in China under a different moniker, and followed by a 9-inch (1280 x 800) A2109 that's said to be "full size fun on a small budget." Unfortunately, full spec and pricing details are relatively scarce at the moment, though Lenovo's product page does tell us they should both be available at some point next month.
