Xbox 360 Controller Mod Features Bullet Buttons With LEDs

To contact us Click HERE

We’ve seen several Xbox 360 controllers get the Steampunk treatment in the past, although if they weren’t cool or flashy enough to grab your attention, it seems that there is now a Xbox 360 button mod that replaces the buttons on your Xbox 360 controller with bullets that light up! Bullet button replacements for the controller aren’t new, but the ones that light up certainly add a bit of flash to the entire proceedings. The color of the LED lights can be chosen by you, and if you feel that pimping out your buttons isn’t enough, there is also a button mod for the Xbox Guide button made from a shotgun shell! The four-button set is retailing for $20.99 while the shotgun shell Xbox Guide button is priced at $12.99, which we have to admit seems pretty affordable. However if you’re not sure how to go about modding your Xbox 360 controller, or maybe if you’d just like to pimp out the whole controller, then the fully modded controller (pictured above) can be yours for a whopping $259.99 on its seller’s Etsy page.

ASUS Echelon Camo Edition Gaming Headset

Camouflage is now like a color by itself that is widely used – from shoes to bags to, well, everything else and by camo, it does not necessary refers to military standard issues. as we all know, camo was originally developed to blend soldiers to their surrounding but it is now slapped on nearly every conceivable consumer goods (btw, we have no complains about that) and it has long been closely associated with military manliness and a sense of ruggedness. Speaking of which, a pair of gaming headset in camo pattern sounds like a no brainer to us. You know, Medal of HonorBattlefieldModern Warfare et cetera – these popular first person shooter games sure could use a little amping up from a camo-equipped gaming gear such as this ASUS Echelon Camo Edition Gaming Headset. Even if Little Planet is all you play all day, its digital camouflage pattern sure could add some spice to an otherwise near-black gaming rig setup.

Features include 50mm neodymium magnet drivers, extra comfy 100mm inner earcups that offers up to 30dB noise isolation, retractable noise-filtering microphone, tough braided cable, inline volume controls, plus aesthetic touch such as metallic side plates with aggressive claw emblem, giving a la-
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon mood to it. Pretty cool stuff but it could be even cooler if the outer earcups were in camo too.

Station wagon, it is but mediocre performance it is anything but. today’s station wagon (or more fancily called ‘estate car’) is not your dad’s kind of wagon – it is pure power with the practicality of space – and with that, makes it a vehicle that anyone would feel proud to be stuffing their weekly groceries with or picking up their kids from school. Fitted with a 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 unit that pumps out 560 hp (412 kW) and a whopping 700 Nm (516.29 lb-ft) of torque, the Audi RS 6 Avant gets from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 305 km/h(190 mph) but yet, it offers an average fuel consumption of just 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers (24 mpg) – performance figures that befit the ethos of its RS badging.

Other performance features include an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox, Quattro all-wheel drive system, adaptive air suspension, electronic stabilization control (ESC), large 6-pod brake calipers in a choice of black or red lacquer, 20-inch seven twin-spoke design forged wheels and a body construction that consists of about 20 percent aluminum with numerous components made of high-strength steel. The latter is a contributing factor its lighter weight and hence, an improved power-to-weight ratio that leads to other benefits such as better handling and reduced gas consumption. On the inside, expected to be greeted by a sporty and elegant cockpit with features like flat-bottomed, three spoke multifunction steering wheel, illuminated entry sills, DIS shift light, aluminum and piano finishes, RS sport seats in black Alcantara and leather, three-zone automatic air conditioning, MMI navigation plus with MMI touch and a 10-speaker Audi sound system. Last but not least, expect to find RS logos slapped around the interior and exterior, reminding everyone that this is not any regular station wagon.

LG Magic Remote announced

To contact us Click HERE

LG Electronics has just announced that they will be releasing an all-new Magic Remote for its range of Cinema 3D Smart TVs before CES 2013 kicks off in Las Vegas in a fortnight’s time. This redesigned device will adopt the enhanced language recognition capabilities which make executing commands a cinch, in a natural, interactive and conversational experience. Not only that, this all new design will also continue to employ a quartet of control options for your convenience – where they are voice, gesture, point, and wheel, and LG is touting this to be the most complete universal remote.Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company, said, “LG is committed to providing innovative home entertainment solutions and the Magic Remote is a key pillar of the CINEMA 3D Smart TV user experience. Building on an already impressive feature set, the latest version boasts accurate lan-guage recognition and its gesture, wheel and point control options makes the Magic Remote stand out amongst its competition as a truly intuitive device.”The LG Magic Remote will come with sophisticated voice control technology that makes issuing a verbal command to the TV not only simple but effective as well. With new Natural Language Recognition software, sending out voice commands are as easy as making regular speech, where you can talk in a more conversational manner. There is no more need to pause momentarily between the command and the title, for instance, you can just say “Show me Gangnam Style video” and the new Magic Remote will get to work right away (no idea on whether this is because Gangnam Style is a secret keyword, due to it being South Korean and all). The LG Magic Remote will arrive in a couple of highly functional models, where one will ship with LG’s premium Cinema 3D Smart TVs, while the other will come with their standard Cinema 3D Smart TV models. Anyone looking forward to performing some “magic”?

The Acase Black Diamond 3 Bluetooth speakers are definitely unique

To contact us Click HERE

Wireless Bluetooth speakers usually come in pretty ordinary designs. Some are more sleek than others, while some have been designed to be more rugged. However if you’re in the market for a set of Bluetooth speakers that are truly unique, then Acase’s Black Diamond 3 Bluetooth speakers are definitely worth taking a look at. As you can see in the image above, the Black Diamond 3 speakers have been shaped to resemble a diamond and instead of coming in your usual black/silver/white finishes, the Black Diamond 3 actually features built-in LED lights that will display a mix of colors which will at the same time pulsate to the music that is coming out of it.
Given its Bluetooth connectivity, the Black Diamond 3 speakers should play nicely with most of your mobile devices. The speakers themselves will output 3W of power, comes with a remote control and an audio out port that you can use to connect non-Bluetooth devices, like the iPod classic for example. It is priced at $120 (available via Amazon) and while we can’t speak for the quality of the sound it gives out, at the very least you’ll have a unique looking set of speakers you can display at home or in the office.

LG To Reveal Smartphone, Tablet And Laptop-Sized Displays At CES 2013

To contact us Click HERE

CES 2013, as with CES events in the past, looks to be an exciting one and if you’re wondering what new display technology will be on site, LG will most definitely have you covered. Earlier we reported that as far as the big screens were concerned, LG will be revealing 3 UHD displays ranging from 55” up to 84”, but what about smaller displays that could make its way onto our smartphones or tablets? It seems that LG will have you covered as well.
LG is said to be set to reveal a 4.7” display with a bezel measuring only 1mm thin, meaning that we could be seeing phones with smaller bezels in the future. If you’ve seen some of LG’s television sets with the ultra-thin bezels, imagine that but on your phone instead. LG is also said to have a 5.5” Full HD display on hand with a pixel density of 403ppi which we can’t wait to have a look at.
Moving up the sizes, LG will also reveal a 7” display with a resolution of 1920×1080 and a pixel density of 324ppi, a 12.9” QSXGA display with a resolution of 2560×1700 designed for Ultrabooks which will utilize the AH-IPS display technology, and last but not least is a 13.3” laptop screen with a pretty impressive bezel measuring only 2mm thin. If these are of interest to you, be sure to check back with us during CES as we will be on site and will be able to provide you with the latest coverage.

Windows Blue Already In Alpha Testing Phase [Rumor]

To contact us Click HERE

Windows Blue was the talk of the town last month when fellow tech site The Verge revealed that Microsoft’s next-generation operating system, presumable dubbed “Windows Blue,” is coming. Details were bleak, but at least we learned that its price will be much cheaper and that Microsoft will subsequently release software updates following its launch, much similar to what Apple is doing with Mac OS X. Today, the Windows Blue rumor is very much alive, as we are hearing reports of a Taiwanese forum member who was able to post more information about the elusive OS on the forum site PC Beta.
According to the forum user, who goes by the moniker “Maxy,” Windows Blue is currently an alpha version with the build 9622 on it. He also says that Microsoft’s flagship Metro UI will still be used in the upcoming OS, but except that the UI is more customizable and the interface more flat. The forum user also added that he can only describe Windows Blue for now and cannot post screenshots of the OS since he is under a non-disclosure agreement with Microsoft.

Aedle VK-1 Headphones

It is true we have featured countless headphones here but today we are going to be honest with you: yes, those cans we featured were all attractive headphones and probably sounds superb too but none is truly breathtaking as far as aesthetic goes – breathtaking as in one that makes you hold your breath and utter, uncontrollably, ‘oh, my God. that’s a beauty!’ But today, we came across one and it hails from the most unlikely place: Paris. Meet the Aedle VK-1 Headphones, the one pair of audio cans that fall right into to that ‘breathtaking’ category we talked about. Two years in the making and 25 prototypes later, this uber sleek sound cans is finally making its way around the globe in February 2013. Each unit comes with its own Aedle Serial Number Metal Card, insuring that you are getting the real deal product (not that they will be any counterfeits but it is always good have some reassurance). ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) ? Albert Pujols has hit his first regular-season home run since joining the Los Angeles Angels, ending the longest drought of his 12-year career after 33 games and 139 at-bats.

Pujols' two-run shot into the left-field bullpen Sunday came in the fifth inning against Toronto's Drew Hutchison.

Pujols was playing his 28th game for the Angels since leaving St. Louis and signing a $240 million, 10-year contract. The homer, estimated at 390 feet, came in his 111 at-bat for the Angels.

The three-time NL MVP hit seven home runs in spring training. His regular-season drought began last year with the Cardinals.

Pujols' home run was his 446th in the big leagues. The only game he's missed this season was Saturday night's 6-2 victory, when manager Mike Scioscia gave him the day off.

Pujols' longest homer drought prior to this was in 2011, when he came up empty in 27 straight games and 105 at-bats. His longest previous drought at the start of a season was in 2008, when he failed to get one in his first eight games and 27 at-bats. The 32-year-old first baseman averaged 40.5 home runs during his 11 seasons with the Cardinals, including a career-best 49 in 2006. He is the only player in major league history to hit at least 30 homers in each of his first 11 big league seasons.

This was Pujols' first home run at Angel Stadium, the 31st big league ballpark in which he's hit one.

Faced with Breivik's unflinching account, Norway surprises world with its civility

To contact us Click HERE

A reporter covering Anders Behring Breivik's trial marvels at the degree of civility Norwegians have shown him, considering the brutality of the July 2011 terror attacks and his lack of remorse.

In the first two weeks of Anders Behring Breivik's trial, the Norwegian man reiterated his conviction that he did the right thing when he killed 77 people on July 22, 2011 ? even if it meant shooting unarmed Labor party youth members as young as 14 trapped on an island or bombing government buildings in Oslo. Those killed were??legitimate political targets,? he said.

The attacks were ?gruesome but necessary" for preventing Labor from continuing to undermine Norwegian society with its lenient immigration policies, Mr. Breivik said. The party had betrayed the country by promoting the Islamic colonization of Norway and ipso facto the ethnic cleansing of indigenous Norwegians. He would do it all again, he said.?

International onlookers have been shocked to see how civil the whole trial is proceeding, given the scale and brutality of his crimes ? together they are?the worst national tragedy the country has experienced since World War II ??and Breivik's lack of remorse.?

On April 16, the first day of the 10-week trial, a lineup of prosecutors, forensic psychiatrists, and the legal counsel for the victims all approached Breivik in court to shake his hand. Wearing a suit and neatly trimmed beard, he politely extended his right hand to greet them. Outside, people lined up orderly to enter Oslo District Court. There was not a single sign denouncing him, nor any banners calling for the death penalty.

On the second day of the trial, he was allowed to begin his six-day testimony of what happened in the years leading up to the attack, including his preparation for that day. At the end of the first week he recounted, in chilling detail, of how, after packing a ham and cheese sandwich that morning, he shot and killed 69 people at the Labor party youth summer camp on Ut?ya with a Glock pistol and Ruger semi-automatic rifle.

If this all sounds surreal, that?s because it is.?

It is surreal to see a well-dressed upper class man sit in a court and calmly explain how he killed Norwegians to prevent Norway?s demise. It?s incomprehensible to hear how a man, who supposedly had all the economic means and generous provisions of a cradle-to-grave welfare system, could turn into Norway?s most notorious killer in modern times. And that is part of what scares Norwegians: the thought that he is one of them.?

Despite the atrocity of his crimes and his behavior, Norwegians still want to see him get a fair trial. But that means?he has a legal right to explain himself in court, even if there is a risk that he spreads his propaganda. The trial is also key in determining Breivik's sanity, which is at the crux of this case. The prosecution even defended his right to keep reading from his prepared speech on his first day of testimony in spite of protests from the legal counsel for the victims, who were offended by his one-hour long monologue.?

Rare Met revival of Britten's shipboard opera

To contact us Click HERE

NEW YORK (AP) ? Absent from the Metropolitan Opera for 15 years, Benjamin Britten's great maritime tragedy "Billy Budd" has made a brief but welcome return in the season's closing days.

If the lead singers were a variable lot at Friday's premiere, the night was still a success because the real stars of the show ? the conductor, the chorus and the set ? all performed magnificently.

That set, designed by William Dudley for the 1978 John Dexter production, is a cutaway depiction against a black background of the H.M.S. Indomitable, a British gunship sailing toward battle with the French in 1797. When the action begins, we're on the main deck, but as scenes change, the ship seamlessly shifts and grows before our eyes, taking us down to the captain's cabin and the sailors' berths and even expanding to reveal seven levels at once.

In adapting Herman Melville's novella, Britten and his librettists ? E.M. Forster and Eric Crozier ? invented a prologue and epilogue in which Captain Vere, now an old man, reflects on the events of the story. In brief, a good-natured young foretopman, Billy Budd, is falsely accused by the master-at-arms, John Claggart, of fomenting mutiny. Tongue-tied, Billy strikes Claggart dead, and Vere ? despite his conviction that Billy is innocent ? feels he has no choice but to see him hanged.

The role of the captain (originally written for Britten's life partner, Peter Pears) was taken in this revival by tenor John Daszak in his Met debut. He sang with a bright, pungent tone and notably crisp diction, though his sound occasionally turned strident on high notes. Dramatically, he was persuasive both as an old man tormented by guilt and as an embattled captain facing an impossible choice.

Baritone Nathan Gunn performed the title role, looking the epitome of Melville's handsome sailor and acting with youthful vigor. He sang sweetly in quiet moments like "Billy in the Darbies," his haunting aria on the eve of execution, but much of the time one longed for a more powerful sound.

Bass James Morris has virtually owned the role of Claggart at the Met, but his voice has lost strength, especially at the low end. He etched a subdued portrait of a corrupt soul who cannot tolerate the presence of unalloyed goodness in the world.

There were many strong contributions from the all-male cast, starting with the chorus, whose role in this opera is vital. The fine trio of officers consisted of baritone Dwayne Croft ? a former Billy himself ? and bass-baritones Kyle Ketelson and the debuting Ryan McKinny. Tenor Keith Jameson was impressive as the Novice, the weak-willed sailor who does Claggart's dirty work.

David Robertson, making a too-infrequent appearance, conducted the Met orchestra in an energetic and moving performance of Britten's score, which is filled with surging melodic themes amid its spiky dissonances.

HBT: O's 1B takes mound, tops Red Sox in 17

To contact us Click HERE

It wasn?t pretty, but in many ways, Chris Davis had the most remarkable day on a baseball field that I can ever remember.

Starting at DH, Davis fanned in his first five at-bats, hit into a double play into his sixth and grounded out in his seventh before moving to the mound to pitch the 16th and 17th innings and picking up a win in a 9-6 game against the Red Sox.

Davis very nearly took the loss in the 16th, but Marlon Byrd was gunned down at home plate on Mike Aviles? double with two outs. The Red Sox then turned to a position player of their own in the 17th, and Darnell McDonald gave up a three-run homer to Adam Jones, giving the Orioles a 9-6 lead.

After Jones? homer, Davis grounded out, making him 0-for-8 on the day.

The bottom of the 17th started with an infield single off Davis? glove and a Dustin Pedroia walk, but Adrian Gonzalez struck out on three pitches to put a cap on his own 0-for-8 day and McDonald grounded into a double play to end it.

Davis became the first position player to win a game since Philadelphia?s Wilson Valdez got a victory in the 19th inning of a game last May 25. Before that, the last to do it was Rockies catcher Brent Mayne in 2000.

Davis?started his outing showing a 90-91 mph fastball, but he quickly faded into the mid-80s in the 17th. Of course, it still worked out for him. McDonald was sitting in the 81-83 mph range in his inning of work.

Despite having three opportunities, Davis managed to avoid picking up his sixth strikeout. He could have been just the eighth player to reach that mark (dating back to 1918) and the first since Milwaukee?s Geoff Jenkins in 2004.

NEC LaVie Y brings Lenovo's 360-degree IdeaPad Yoga hybrid tablet to Japan

To contact us Click HERE

nec-lavie-y
Don't think that Lenovo is keeping the IdeaPad Yoga's bendy secrets all to itself: its Japanese partner NEC is bringing a variant of the ARM-based Yoga 11 to the land of the rising sun as the LaVie Y. The 11.6-inch blend of laptop and tablet keeps the signature 360-degree display, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as its more internationally-minded counterpart, and confirms that there's a quad-core Tegra 3 powering either of the Windows RT systems.
What differences exist will stem from the software: there's hints of a custom NEC app on an otherwise vanilla interpretation of Microsoft's platform. The LaVie Y should precede its IdeaPad sibling by days, arriving in stores around November 22nd, although any local buyers will pay dearly for the privilege with an estimated $1,136 price. We'd suggest that patience ought to be a virtue for everyone else.

[Thanks, Gerald]

How Would you Change ASUS' Transformer Pad TF300ASUS' Transformer Pad was tucked in beneath the Transformer Prime in the company's range of hybrid Android tablets. The only problem however, was that the company forgot to really differentiate the two -- with only a few hours less battery life the real distinction. But how has it been for you to live with? Did you get used to its slightly fiddly keyboard, have you been as smitten with it as our reviewer? Step into Jonney Shih's shoes and tell us what you'd suggest he does differently when next year's model comes out.

Hands-on with MSI's S20 Slidebook, a $1,099 Windows 8 convertible Ultrabook

To contact us Click HERE

Hands-on with MSI's S20 SlidebookWe just got more hands-on time with MSI's S20 Slidebook, which we first spotted at Computex 2012. This ultra light (2.3 pounds / 1kg) and thin (0.78-inches / 19.8mm) convertible Ultrabook runs Windows 8 (naturally) and packs an Intel Core i5 processor (Ivy Bridge), 4GB RAM and a 128GB mSATA SSD. In front, there's a gorgeous 11.6-inch 1920x1080-pixel IPS display with a 10-point capacitive multitouch layer plus an HD front-facing camera. A glossy white plastic bezel surrounds the glass panel and incorporates the MSI logo and the Windows button.
The back cover is made of a silver magnesium alloy with matching plastic antenna covers for the built-in WiFi b/g/n, WiDi and Bluetooth 4.0 radios. Most of the ports are on the right edge along with the power / lock key and LED indicators -- this includes the power input, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, a mini-HDMI output and a pair of USB 3.0 connectors. You'll find a gigabit Ethernet port on the left side plus an SD card reader, orientation lock button and volume rocker in back.

Of course, what sets the S20 apart is its ability to switch instantly from a tablet into a usable laptop. The screen slides up and tilts forward to reveal a chiclet keyboard with excellent key travel and decent spacing. You're not limited to any specific angle here -- the display is fully adjustable from flat to almost perpendicular with the keyboard. The sealed 3-cell 3900mAh battery is rated for 7 hours of continuous operation. We spent several minutes using the Slidebook and came away pretty impressed -- it's incredibly light for its size, the screen is bright and crisp, and the keyboard is comfortable. Even in prototype form, performance and build-quality are top-notch. MSI plans to make its convertible Ultrabook available late November for $1,099 through major US retailers both online and in stores. The company expects to sell other configurations in other markets as well. Take a look at our gallery below and hit the break for our hands-on video.

Spotify founder wanted to create something 'better than piracy'

To contact us Click HERE
?

Daniel Ek, the 29 year-old founder of Spotify, wasn't inspired by Pandora or Facebook when it came to building his popular streaming and very-social music service. No, it was piracy that Ek wanted to beat.

"I was born in Sweden, and in Sweden we are known for the piracy services," Ek told ABC News' John Muller in an ABC News / Yahoo! News Newsmakers interview. "I decided I wanted to create a product that was better than piracy."

You could say it's mission accomplished for Ek. Spotify has over 20 million active monthly users and has quickly become one of the most popular digital destinations to listen to music on a computer, smartphone or tablet.

Ek himself got his start in music.? "I had two passions growing up -- one was music, one was technology. I tried to play in a band for a while, but I was never talented enough to make it. And I started companies," Ek said. "One day came along and I decided to combine the two -- and there was Spotify."

He makes it sound easy, but a lot of negotiation has gone into the process of working with artists, labels and? Facebook. "Eventually we convinced the record labels by getting them to use the product as well, and from there on we continued to grow," he said.

The service doesn't only continue to grow in users, but also features. Last week Spotify redesigned its entire front page with a new interface and new features that allows users to follow brands and influencers, including ABC News' "Good Morning America." The "GMA" team will publish its own playlists now and users will be able to follow them.

So what else is ahead for the service? Naturally, Ek was a bit reserved about sharing plans, but when asked if Spotify's model could extend to other services, such as books or movies, he said maybe.? The focus now, though, is really on music.

"There are half a billion people that listen to music online and the vast majority are doing so illegally. But if we bring those people over to the legal side and Spotify, what is going to happen is we are going to double the music industry and that will lead to more artists creating great, new music."

But there's also some old music Ek has his eye on. He told us that he is working hard to bring the Beatles library of songs and albums to the service. It was only in 2010 that Apple was able to get Beatles added to the iTunes store.

Ultimately, Ek said his goal is clear: "For us it is about getting it out to more people.? We launched in the U.S. one year ago. We want to bring music to every single person and bring it to every moment of their life."

Australia radio station boss: Nurse's death 'truly tragic'

To contact us Click HERE

After the death of a nurse who relayed the health of Princess Kate to Australian radio DJs, the broadcaster says it will cooperate with investigations. NBC's Annabel Roberts reports.

By NBC News staff and news services

British police said Sunday they have contacted Australian authorities about a possible investigation into a radio station's prank call to a U.K. hospital about the Duchess of Cambridge.

Meanwhile, the company that owns the station promised to review its broadcast practices.

?

The prank took a dark twist Friday with the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha, a 46-year-old mother of two, three days after she unwittingly accepted the call about the health of Prince William's pregnant wife, Kate. The death has sparked an angry backlash from those who argue the Australian DJs who carried out the hoax should be held responsible.

The board of Southern Cross Austereo had an emergency meeting Sunday to discuss a harsh letter from the hospital that fell for the call. King Edward VII's Hospital, where the former Kate Middleton was being treated for acute morning sickness this week, condemned the "truly appalling" hoax and called the consequences "tragic beyond words."

Max Moore-Wilton, the chairman of 2DayFM owner Southern Cross Austereo, said in a letter to the hospital's chairman Sunday that the company will cooperate with any investigation.

He wrote:

We are all saddened by the events of the last few days. They are truly tragic.

It is too early to know the full details leading to this tragic event and we are anxious to review the results of an investigation that may be made available to us or made public. We can assure you that we will be fully cooperative with all investigations.

As we have said in our own statements on the matter, the outcome was unforeseeable and very regrettable.

I can assure you we are taking immediate action and reviewing the broadcast and processes involved.

Our Company joins with you, all at King Edwards VII's Hospital and Mrs Saldanha's family and friends in mourning their tragic loss.

U.K.?s Metropolitan Police said Sunday it has contacted Australian authorities in connection with the investigation into Saldanha?s death. Australian police said they would cooperate. A New South Wales Police spokesman told The Telegraph: "As our policing colleagues in London continue to examine events leading up to the death of London nurse Jacintha Saldanha overnight, we will be providing them with whatever assistance is required."

The radio station callers impersonated Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles and received confidential details about the former Kate Middleton's medical information. The call was recorded and broadcast.

2 Day FM radio presenters Mel Greig, left, and Michael Christian are seen In this undated supplied publicity photo.

Police have not yet determined Saldanha's cause of death or whether it was related to the call.

Both DJs involved apologized for the prank before Saldanha's death. Their show has been suspended indefinitely and their Twitter accounts have been taken down after they were bombarded by thousands of abusive comments.

The station's presenters have come under attack from around the world on social media sites and were "extremely distressed," a Southern Cross Austereo spokeswoman said.

Both were keen to speak publicly about the incident, but were in too fragile a condition to do so, the spokeswoman added.

The station has a history of controversy, including airing a segment in which a 14-year-old girl revealed that she had been raped. It also ran a series of "Heartless Hotline" shows in which disadvantage people were offered a prize that could be taken away from them by listeners.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority, which regulates radio broadcasting, says it received complaints from around the world and is considering whether it should launch an investigation

Separately, Prince William on Sunday pulled out of attending the British Military Tournament, billed as "the largest display of military theatre in the world", citing Kate's illness.

Officials from St. James's Palace have said the duchess is not yet 12 weeks pregnant. The child would be the first for her and William.

The radio DJs who prank called the hospital where Princess Kate Middleton was being treated are facing tremendous backlash following the death of one of the nurses who spoke with them. NBC's Annabel Roberts reports.

Strauss-Kahn, NYC hotel maid settle lawsuit

To contact us Click HERE

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Dominique Strauss-Kahn and a New York hotel maid who accused the former International Monetary Fund chief of sexually assaulting her agreed on Monday to settle her civil lawsuit against him for an undisclosed sum, ending one chapter of a scandal that cost him his job and derailed his political career in France.

At a brief hearing in New York State Supreme Court in the Bronx, Justice Douglas McKeon said the terms of deal, which includes settlement of a countersuit filed by Strauss-Kahn, would remain confidential.

Strauss-Kahn, 63, was not required to appear in New York and remained in Paris. His accuser, Nafissatou Diallo, was present as the judge had ordered, wearing a green blouse with black pants and a gray and white scarf around her head.

"I thank everybody, and I thank God," Diallo said in a brief statement outside the courthouse after the hearing.

"Ms. Diallo is a strong and courageous woman who never lost faith in our system of justice. With this resolution, she can now move on with her life and we thank everyone for their support and prayers," her lawyer, Kenneth Thompson, said.

Strauss-Kahn's New York lawyers, William Taylor and Amit Mehta, said in an emailed statement: "On behalf of Mr. Strauss-Kahn, we are pleased to have arrived at a resolution of this matter. We are grateful to Judge McKeon whose patience and forbearance allowed this agreement to be formulated."

MORE LEGAL HURDLES AHEAD IN FRANCE

The agreement ends Strauss-Kahn's U.S. legal woes, but he faces more court dates in France.

The U.S. scandal erupted in May 2011 when Diallo, 33, told police that Strauss-Kahn attacked her in his suite at the Sofitel Hotel in Manhattan. She alleged that a naked Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bathroom of his $3,000-a-night suite and forced her to perform oral sex.

The accusation led to a frantic scramble by police in New York to arrest Strauss-Kahn as he sat aboard a jet at John F. Kennedy International Airport waiting to take off for France.

The scandal forced Strauss-Kahn to resign as head of one of the world's most influential international finance organizations and wrecked his hopes of running for president in his native France.

Prosecutors initially expressed confidence in the evidence, including DNA that showed a sexual encounter. But they dropped the case in August 2011 after developing concerns about Diallo's credibility, including what they said were inconsistencies in her account of what happened immediately following the incident.

Judge McKeon said a separate lawsuit filed by Diallo against the New York Post over the tabloid's report that she was a prostitute had been settled as well. Terms of that were also not released.

Accusers in such cases often hide from the glare of publicity, and many media outlets, including Reuters, protect their identities by not revealing their names.

But Diallo, the daughter of an imam from Guinea, broke her silence in July 2011, while the criminal investigation was still active, revealing her identity in interviews to Newsweek and ABC News.

She filed her civil lawsuit just weeks before the charges were dismissed, claiming Strauss-Kahn forced her to perform oral sex and caused her physical and emotional damage.

Strauss-Kahn filed a countersuit against Diallo for defamation. He said the sexual encounter was consensual but admitted it was a "moral error."

The resolution of the civil case brings Strauss-Kahn closer to ending his legal troubles, which have persisted since his return to France after the initial incident.

He is awaiting a decision by a French court on his request to halt an inquiry into whether he should stand trial on pimping charges related to sex parties he attended with prostitutes. A court date in that matter is set for December 19.

Meanwhile, Strauss-Kahn is quietly trying to resume his career, delivering speeches at private conferences in recent months and setting up a consulting firm in Paris.

If the reaction of some Parisians asked about the legal settlement in New York is any indication, Strauss-Kahn still faces a skeptical public in France.

"Just because he's got money he gets away with it," Bastien, an electrician in his 20s told Reuters TV. "If it had been anyone else they would have done time for this. It's not right."

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? James Bond is in a box-office photo finish with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny over what looks to be the last slow weekend of the holidays.

According to studio estimates Sunday, Sony's Bond tale "Skyfall" took in $11 million to move back to No. 1 in its fifth weekend.

That put it narrowly ahead of Paramount's "Rise of the Guardians," the animated adventure of Santa, the Easter Bunny and other mythological heroes that pulled in $10.5 million.

The two movies inched ahead of Summit Entertainment's "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn ? Part 2," which had been tops for three-straight weekends. The "Twilight" finale earned $9.2 million, slipping into a tight race for No. 3 with Disney's "Lincoln," which was close behind with $9.1 million.

The top movies were bunched up so closely that rankings could change once final weekend revenues are released Monday.

The weekend's only new wide release, Gerard Butler's romantic comedy "Playing for Keeps," flopped with just $6 million, coming in at No. 6.

"Skyfall" raised its domestic total to $261.6 million and added $20.3 million overseas to bring its international income to $656.6 million. At $918 million worldwide, "Skyfall" has the best cash haul ever for the Bond franchise and surpassed "Spider-Man 3" at $890 million to become Sony's top-grossing hit.

The "Twilight" finale also is a franchise record-breaker, surpassing the $710 million worldwide haul of last year's "Breaking Dawn ? Part 1." The finale's domestic total now stands at $268.7 million.

"Rise of the Guardians" led the international box office with $26 million, followed by 20th Century Fox's "Life of Pi" at $23.8 million.

It was another traditionally quiet post-Thanksgiving weekend, with big November releases continuing to dominate in the lull before a pre-Christmas onslaught of movies.

The box office is expected to soar next weekend with the arrival of part one of "The Hobbit," Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" prelude. After that comes a steady rush of action, comedy and drama through year's end, including Tom Cruise's "Jack Reacher," Quentin Tarantino and Jamie Foxx's "Django Unchained," Seth Rogen's "The Guilt Trip" and Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe's "Les Miserables."

"The last couple of weeks of the year are some of the strongest every year," said Paul Dergarabedian, an analyst for box-office tracker Hollywood.com. "We are on the cusp of some really huge box office. There's a lot of money still left in the year despite this slow period right now."

Hollywood's domestic revenues have topped $10 billion so far this year, with the industry expected to finish 2012 ahead of the all-time high of $10.6 billion set in 2009.

Trashed savagely by critics, FilmDistrict's "Playing for Keeps" stars Butler as a washed-up soccer star trying to reconnect with his ex-wife (Jessica Biel) and young son. The all-star cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones and Uma Thurman as soccer moms with the hots for Butler.

In limited release, Bill Murray's Franklin Roosevelt drama "Hyde Park on Hudson" opened solidly with $83,280 in four theaters, averaging a healthy $20,820 a cinema. By comparison, "Playing for Keeps" averaged $2,115 in 2,837 theaters.

Released by Focus Features, "Hyde Park on Hudson" stars Murray as Roosevelt, whose intimate relations with a distant cousin (Laura Linney) become both a source of strength and distraction as the president plays host to the king and queen of England on the eve of World War II.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Where available, latest international numbers are also included. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

1. "Skyfall," $11 million ($20.3 million).

2. "Rise of the Guardians," $10.5 million ($26 million international).
